I imagine it would be tough to beat many of the games out there, especially sequals. I'm guessing that they are doing this to reward those who did pre-order, and so we don't keep having to answer threads about "why did I pre-order when all these other people can play the BWE for free."

There are a few people who have just been relying on friends passes and other free passes to this point, and this may encourage them to get the pre-order.

What? You've never heard of the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sermon_on_the_Mount]Sermon from the Mount[/url}? Mount is a way of saying a large hill or mound of earth as well as another way to say mountain. It does indeed allude to the voice of an overaching and final authority and of a special connection or attention paid thereto. Put it this way, I'm an alpha, so are a lot of people who run fansites, you don't think we were running around in a panic when that page went down? We've got a lot of ways to talk as well as that "omnipotent authority" so infer from that whatever you might like as, unfortunately, I really can't be much more clear.

Anyhow, back on topic, a nice little Valentine's Day present from ANet to us fans. I, too, am curious just how the pre-order and play early deal will work out but I think we'll have to wait for more details. It might be as simple as letting you use your BWE key to play a bit early and letting it work for a day or so until you have the time to run out to the store or whatever or it might involve something much more complex, at this point only time will tell.

I'd imagine they'd have a grace period of about a week to enter your official retail code, but we'll see. As much as ANet is trying to cater to worldwide gamers, that would help people who might be getting the game several days later than North America, for instance.

It's indeed great news that ArenaNet has finally announced the release date. I'm glad to see that there is still an event in april, although they release in that month. I think this is a moment where a lot of us have been waiting for. If guildwars.com has some more problems with the movie, then you guys can always download it on gwfiles.net, here.

I have the video repeating on my computer and the music replaying on my roommates speakers. Glorious.

I'm one of those guys that doesn't mind how long a game is delayed as long as it is the best it could possibly be when it comes out, but I'm still aching to play GW. IOW it would be great to have to come out in April but if it gets pushed back a few weeks/months, no biggie.

My thoughts exactly. After seeing that new video, I have this uncontrollable urge to play GW, and look over more char builds

Woohoo!! In the meantime, these Betas are just gonna get better and better. At least they aren't releasing this game around finals for me.

Guild Wars will be available at retail in North America and Europe on April 28, 2005.
Does this mean our friends in Asia/South America/Australia will have to wait longer for GW to be released in their area?

*dances around the room, and replies the video the whole night*

This is awesome news.....I cant wait!

I think they will allow the preorder package Key for a few after release so 'others' will still be able to play even though they are not getting the package right away.

This is exactly the date I predicted give or take 2 days.

My gues is they won't have all their content they might have hoped for upon release, but it will very likely have little bugs or other more major problems.

Extra content an bugfixing will of course be added right after release with streaming tech.

Man... that video is crazy nice.
I looks like there are bears now! GO BEARS!

I'd be interested to know too. I don't want to be able to play the day before release, then have to wait a few weeks to get back into the game. I thought the plan was always for a simultaneous world-wide release? Gaile?

I think the site says Europe and the States because the site is designed for them. I'm sure the Korean GW site has the same release date as well, as do any other sites. I might be totally off, however.

That link is what I ended up with using an internet translator. Not much makes sense there in Elglish.

I was just trying that *smiles*

I checked the Korean site with the Google Translator.

Well, Google translates the actual words....but it doesnt do it to a readable point...plus most of the stuff to read is contained in a picture....I tried guessing on a few links also and to no avail either.

Guess I need to have a counter for the release date too now

And as Guild Wars Europe would say it "It's comming!"
